Dr. N K Mathur, did M.B.B.S from SMS Medical college Jaipur (1966), M.D Dermatology and Venereology from All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi (1970) and thereafter worked in the teaching faculty in various medical colleges of Rajasthan. In the year 1979 joined SMS Medical college as Professor and Head of the Dept. and continued there till 2001.

1981 – Started Post graduation in Dermatology, STD & Leprosy at SMS Medical College Jaipur for the first time in Rajasthan State

1981 – Fellowship of Indian College of Allergy and Applied Immunology

1985 – Gargi Devi Suryaveer Singh Award – Best Research 1985 Paper in Medicine

1985 – Cash Merit Award for research in Leprosy – Govt of Rajasthan

1988,89,90 – Co –investigator in Indo US research project: Effect of gamma interferon on disposal of Mycobacterium leprae

2001 – Shroff Oration( Life time achievement Award by Indian Association of Dermatologists Venereologists and Leprologists of India)

2012 – Professor K C Kandhari Foundation Award (Highest award by Indian Association of Dermatologists Venereologists and Leprologists of India)

2013 – Maharaja Sawai Man Singh II museum Trust “Raja Pajman Dev Award” for excellence in field of Medicine
